Plant in an open sunny or partly shaded north facing wall/fence sheltered from frost and strong winds. Prefers a slightly acid, moist but well-drained fertile soil. Dig a hole twice the diameter of the root-ball and mix a general fertiliser with the infill soil. Water regularly until established. Plant 1.5m (5ft) apart in rows 2m (6ft) apart.
Fruit is produced on the previous year’s growth and older shoots. Create a framework of 8-10 branches. Each Winter from year 3 shorten main shoots by one-half. Apply a general fertiliser in Spring
