Plant 30-45cm (12-18in) apart in rows 1m (3ft) apart.  Plant in a sheltered spot in a well-drained but moist, fertile soil in full sun or light shade.  Soak the root-ball before planting.  Plant in a hole twice the diameter of the root-ball. Mix general fertiliser with the infill soil. Water regularly until established. Summer fruiting raspberries will require support, which is usually provided by 2 or 3 wires supported horizontally between wooden stakes

Fruit is produced on the canes that grew in the previous year.  Cut the current seasons fruited canes out straight after fruiting or in the winter. New canes should be tied onto wires as they appear and the growing tip pinched out a the desired height. Tie new canes in at 10-15cm intervals keeping the strongest growers. Keep rows 60cm (2ft) wide by removing unwanted canes in the Spring. Apply a top dressing of well rotted manure annually.
