Plant garlic in rows in any well drained soil in full sun. It is important that the soil does not become waterlogged so incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to improve drainage and feed the soil. On particularly heavy soils, grow garlic in raised beds. Carefully split the bulb into individual cloves. Plant each clove at a depth of 2cm (1”) below the surface of the soil and 10cm (4”) apart, leaving 45cm (18”) between each row.
Weed rows of garlic regularly and protect crops from birds by covering them with netting. Garlic is undemanding and will only require watering during particularly dry periods. Harvest garlic from July, when the leaves begin to turn yellow, by loosening them from the ground with a trowel

Picardy Wight Garlic is a variety that can be planted in both the autumn and spring months.
Softneck garlic is easier to grow than Hardneck and produces plenty of cloves that will store well.

Collection and Delivery options will be available on checkout. We try to get in stock orders boxed and shipped within 48hrs and often orders placed before 10am are shipped the same day. In busy periods however lead times could be extended. Orders containing plants will only be shipped Monday to Thursday (10am cut off) so they are not sat in boxes over the weekend. If you order after 10am on a Thursday you will not receive your order until Tuesday Seed only orders - £2.50: For orders that contain only packets of seed P&P is £2.50 to anywhere in the UK Standard Delivery - £4.95: Our standard P&P charge is £4.95 to Mainland UK Plants and Seed Potato - £8.50: These products will be subjected to a higher P&P fee of £8.50 due to the extra handling of plants and the extra weight with seed potatoes.
