Soak the root-ball before planting. Plant in a hole twice the diameter of the root-ball. Mix a general fertiliser with the infill soil. Water regularly until established. Best grown against a fence or wall for support in well-drained but moist, fertile soil in full sun. Can be grown on wires support by posts at 1.8m intervals.
In autumn, prune the canes which have fruited over summer to ground level. Canes which have not fruited should be ‘tied in’ to their supports. In spring, while the ground is moist, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the canes to improve moisture retention throughout the summer.
A thornless raspberry/blackberry hybrid. Very high yields of enormous, long, cone-shaped berries ripening from mid July. Loganberries have an excellent aromatic flavour, they are juicier but sharper than raspberries. The fruit is ideal for all purposes and is best cropped when they turn deep red in colour. Bushy vigorous growth and the branches need permanent support so is ideal for training against a wall or fence.

*Bareroot – November to March is the ideal time to plant bare-root plants. These are plants that have been grown in open ground, then dug up for dispatch and planting during the dormant season. They are called ‘bare-root’ plants as they are supplied with no soil around their roots. They will come packed in damp compost to stop the roots drying out and should be planted as soon as possible. As long as the compost is kept damp planting can be delayed for a few weeks if necessary.
